Josinho D' Souza (Juzinho) was born to Caetano Piedade Souza and Luizinha Filomena Luis on 15th July 1941. He hails from Zaino, Velim, Goa. Died 8.5.2017
Josinho started playing clarinet with his father when was 13 years old. In the year 1965, he formed his band A.V.C POPs. ...
From the year 1966 to 1970 he taught music in St. Rock's High School, Tolecanto, Velim.
Josinho Souza is a musician of great expertise and his contribution to the Konkani Song & Music has been truly invaluable.
He has played music in around 3000 tiatrs all over India as well as in the Gulf and UK. The instrument played by him was saxophone.

Besides live music for songs in tiatrs, he has also designed/operated background music in Tiatrs.
Some of the tiatrs in which he has designed/operated background music are 'Patok' 'Ghatki Bhoinn', 'Sucorina', 'Duddu Ginean',
'Sonvsarant Astana Diat' and 'Ostori'. He was also full time Mestiri in his village church and he was a very soft spoken and highly respected in society.
Maestro Josinho because of his gift of providing beautiful music was the favourite of most Konkani Album producers. He has provided music to over 230 audio cassettes and has released his own audio album "Mhozo Anvddo" . - see Newspaper advert below
He has written 3 tiatrs namely 'Mai Paiche Dekhik Lagon', Angovnnecho Put' and 'Toddoki Pai'.
Josinho was selected as the Star of the Month at the All India Radio in 2005.
Josinho has been conferred with several awards for his contribution to Konkani Tiatr, Song & Music which are as follows:
- He was presented with Gulab Award in the year 1996
- He received Culture Overseas Best Music Award in the year 2002 in Kuwait
- In the year 2003, he received first prize for music in the tiatr 'Rater'
- He was conferred with the prestigious Goa State Cultural Award in 2008
- He was awarded Dr Jack Sequeira Award in 2009 -
- He was honored with Life time contribution to Tiatr Awards in December - see pic below
